Take a Tour of the Living Systems Institute
At the Living Systems Institute we practice welcoming all organisms to participate in our ecosystem. We cycle all the carbon generated on site into new fertility by incorporating it into gardens that serve as a habitat for the soil organisms that will feed our plants.
In traditional landscaping we spend time and money trying and failing to maintain a “picture perfect” landscape. When we begin to see ourselves as a part of a habitat our time in the landscape is more enjoyable. A habitat is always becoming more complex and more beautiful and we spend less money because nature will do the work for us.
We explore the ways that we can produce the things our habitat needs and use all the things that our habitat produces. That makes them integrated closed loop production systems. When we incorporate our chickens and greenhouses they produce protein and fresh vegetables year round.
A tour of the property can be arranged for individuals or groups by using the contact link below. David Braden gives the tours and explains the processes at work. The tours can take between one and two hours depending on how many questions your group has.
